6 Common Microsoft Power Apps Use Cases

In a previous blog, Close ERP Gaps with Microsoft Power Apps, we discussed how Microsoft Power Apps is used to help close feature gaps in your ERP solution. In this post, we will address how customers often get started using Power Apps.

Getting Started with Microsoft Power APPs

Many customers start creating software applications (APPs) to address a nuisance they are trying to resolve. Below are some common use cases of how Power Apps can improve organizational processes and efficiency:

  • Data Input/Entry: Streamline data entry. Reduce input errors by building forms. Apps that can reference data in your ERP
  • Document Upload: Using the camera and hardware on mobile devices to scan documents. Use machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) to extrapolate relevant information from the document. Upload data into Dynamics 365, SharePoint, Excel, or other SaaS solutions
  • Office Reservation: Power Apps can be set up to reserve meeting and conference room spaces.
  • Employee/Customer Portals: Secure interactions between employees or customers who communicate remotely with Microsoft Power App portals.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) Apps: Simplify the process for employees requesting paid time off. Track approvals and remaining PTO days they have available.
  • Barcode Scanning: Mobile applications are available in PowerApps, allowing you to access hardware on your cell phone or tablet. Use the camera to scan barcodes. With the addition of AI, it can even scan and recognize objects based on shape. Use the database on the back-end for managing inventory
